Darla has a degree in Business Communications from the University of Oklahoma and worked in the software industry for many years. She was the first “female” sales executive for EDS (Ross Perot’s company) in the financial services industry in the 1970’s, and sold facilities management to large financial institutions worldwide. After EDS was sold to General Motors, she moved to Shared Financial Systems where she was Senior Vice President of Sales selling software to clients that were Sr. Management Executives (many times CEO’s, COO’s or CFO’s) of major institutions like American Express, Visa, Diner’s Club and MasterCard. These two professional positions along with owning her own retail store in Carmel, CA certainly prepared her for a future real estate career!
She joined Coldwell Banker in 1991 where she was “Rookie of the Year” and continued with various real estate awards and recognitions with Equitable Real Estate, Russ Lyon/Sotheby’s Real Estate and Re/Max Platinum Living these last 3 years. In 2013 she was awarded the coveted “Platinum One Award” for converting/closing the highest number of office generated leads. She is a member of the 2013, 2014, and on target for 2015 “Re/Max National 100% Club”.
Darla attributes her success to her dedication and knowledge of the industry, ongoing education and training, and loving what she does. Her greatest joy comes from helping people from all walks of life she believes that everyone has a “story”. As a volunteer for Hospice of the Valley, involvement in her church, and contributing a portion of every commission check to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, she finds her true happiness lies in giving back to her community.
She and her husband live and work as realtors in DC Ranch. Darla is in the process of writing a heartfelt and humorous book about selling real estate. As you can see, she truly loves what she does and looks forward to opportunities for more.
