Walt Danley Realty Wins $25,000 Grand Prize for St. Mary’s Food Bank

We couldn’t believe it! Last November, my team volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank packing emergency food boxes for hungry Arizonans. While we were there, Kevin, a member of my staff, created a video to submit for Drew Brees’ Super Service Challenge. Thanksgiving took place later that week and then we rushed headfirst into the holiday season (and our busiest time of year for real estate). You can imagine our anticipation when we were “strongly urged” to attend the award ceremony. Of course, we had no idea that we were Grand Prize winners and that St. Mary’s would be getting $25,000! Unfortunately I couldn’t attend the ceremony, but I was [...] read more

The New York Times featured one of our Scottsdale listings!

The New York Times photographed one of our luxury home listings in Scottsdale in January of this year. The $5,000,000 home located in DC Ranch houses four bedrooms, four baths, two additional half-baths, an impressive pool and hot tub, and spacious four-car garage. The North Scottsdale home rests on the 15th hole of the DC Ranch golf course and is protected inside a gated community. With large, open windows, the great rooms, master bedroom, and dining room have vast glass walls overlooking a private desert landscape and is furnished with the finest modern designs. read more

Walt Danley featured on propertybase.com

I was recently featured on propertybase.com for our various properties listed well over a million dollars, giving luxury housing a whole new meaning in Arizona. Paradise Valley, one of our most popular areas for the wealthiest clients, along with Phoenix and Scottsdale, lend many opportunities for high-end home buying in the valley. With almost 4 decades of experience, I take advantage of the many redeeming qualities Arizona has to offer and has excelled in selling several properties with one-of-a-kind features like fireplaces and wood imported from Europe, large barns, operating trains, and thousands of acres of beautifully detailed homes and landscapes. These luxurious homes earned me a spot on the [...] read more

The Week explores one of our Paradise Valley homes

The Week featured one of our luxury homes in their recent January issue among others that are ideal for snowbirds. The Paradise Valley Home overlooks Camelback Mountain and has prime views of Phoenix that are well worth the $2,650,000 price listed on the market. The home, equipped with a wrap-around balcony and high ceilings makes for a perfect desert oasis. Lastly, what snowbirds love most; a large yard, plentiful gardens, and even a private putting green.   Read the article here: 01.10.14_The Week_6 homes for snowbirds read more

Radiant Retreats – Paradise Valley Home featured in Robb Report Home & Style

Previously featured in the January/February issue of Robb Report Home & Style, one of our own listings in Paradise Valley made the cut as one of the best “radiant retreats”. Resting on 2.8 acres of land in Paradise Valley, this prime spot was on the market for $13.75 million dollars in January of 2014, and I can assure you, the lucky owners found it well worth the money. With five luxurious bedrooms, a gallery for priceless artwork, a guesthouse for relatives and friends, and an impressive two-tiered pool in the backyard, this property meets every desire, need, and dream a homeowner could possibly have, all under one roof. read more

Predictions for the Paradise Valley Real Estate Market

The casual real estate watcher has been been subjected to a handful of seemingly conflicting headlines over the last few months, none of them answering questions like: “Is now the right time to sell?” “If there’s a shortage, shouldn’t prices be rising?” followed by, “If supply is tight, why hasn’t my home sold?” These are some of the most common questions asked of me and the members of my real estate brokerage, Walt Danley Realty. I have been practicing real estate in Paradise Valley and the surrounding luxury market for nearly 40 years. In order to provide the best service possible for our clients, Walt Danley Realty tracks market statistics [...] read more

Tips for Pocket Listings in Real Estate Business Magazine

Recently I spoke with Real Estate Business Magazine writer G.M. Filisko about luxury pocket listings in Arizona.  The article is geared more towards real estate professionals, but I’m posting it here because of the large number of other agents that come to our site and/or ask for mentoring on various topics (often this one specifically). As an aside for consumers, I’ve written on this topic previously because privately listing your home is something some people should consider, and some people shouldn’t.   A few highlights from the Real Estate Business Magazine article: Get the listing agreement in writing to protect yourself, your client, the buyer’s agent, and their client.  Treat it [...] read more

Volunteering at St. Mary’s Food Bank

During Thanksgiving week nearly all members of the team volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix as part of the Super Service Challenge. In addition to having a great time we were able to pack over 19,000 lbs. of food into emergency bags that would be delivered later in the week. Thank you St. Mary’s for all the good you do! Mortgage Banker’s Association’s David Stevens Presenting in Scottsdale

Thanks to Dan Hrey with OnQ Financial for inviting me and a few members of my team to this event.  As president of the Mortgage Banker’s Association, David is a highly influential person in Washington, D.C., and regularly meets with lawmakers to discuss the needs of home buyers and their financiers.  David’s presentation didn’t focus too heavily on the jumbo market and was instead concerned with national trends.  Worth watching in its entirety, key takeaways are: Not much lower rates can go Tremendous household formation going forward as economy improves and pent-up Millennial demand drives future growth In 2012, the average DENIED loan application included a credit score of 733 [...] read more

It’s always a lot of fun when we can feature one of our properties on television, and this time was no exception. Easily among the finest homes ever constructed in Paradise Valley, it looks beautiful in this video but absolutely breathtaking in person. Take a look and enjoy the tour!
