Carefree

The Town of Carefree was established in the mid ’50s as a master-planned community, and to this day it maintains much of its Western ambiance. Once home to the worldʼs largest sundial before being eclipsed by a larger one in India, Carefree is now a favorite amongst fine diners and those looking for a more carefree way of life. Streets like Ho-Hum Way and Happy Hollow remind residents to enjoy life in the Leisure Lane (also a street name).

Carefreeʼs location at the “top of Scottsdale” and on the fringes of the Tonto National Forest provide an abundance of natural beauty. To the west, Black Mountain is the unofficial divider between Carefree and Cave Creek where a similarly “carefree” lifestyle permeates its Wild West themed shops and restaurants.

Carefree seems to effortlessly combine rustic charms with multi-million dollar desert estate homes. It’s no surprise then that the Town motto is “Home of Cowboys and Caviar, Where the Old West Meets the New.”
