As a native Phoenician and lifelong Arizona resident, Libby Cohen makes it her business to stay on top of everything that impacts luxury real estate in the Valley. From the political climate to the thriving business scene, you can bet that Libby has the 411 on the dynamics of life in Arizona.
Libby began her career in luxury real estate in 2005. After working with a partner for a couple of years, she decided to go out on her own. When Walt Danley got wind of her new career direction, he immediately recruited her to join his team.
“I love the boutique nature of Walt Danley Realty,” Libby says. “We are a close-knit family and work together to support one another. And Walt is a mentor, teacher, coach, and most of all, a friend and partner to me,” Libby continues. “I can’t imagine not working with him.”
When describing her personal experience as an agent with Walt Danley Realty, Libby says that she has had “many fabulous transactions.” One of her favorite things to do is work with buyers who are considering a move to Arizona.
“I believe my job is to first sell them on Arizona, which is a piece of cake for me,” she says. “I love it here!”
As a way of introducing people to Arizona, Libby loves to show them around. Whether taking them on a hike, lunching at a favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant, or suggesting a visit to the Botanical Garden or Heard Museum, Libby likes to give her clients an “insider’s view” of what living in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, or Phoenix is like.
“Once they realize how amazing our lifestyle is, finding a home is the easy part,” she says. “And lucky me, my clients become my friends, too!”
While most of Libby’s life has been centered around the Phoenix area, she spent a few years away from home attending The University of Arizona in Tucson. She has also earned a degree from The Scottsdale Culinary Institute, Le Cordon Bleu, and recently completed her Master Gardener certification through The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. As this relates to her work, Libby says, “I love all things domestic. I certainly know a great and functional kitchen when I see one and am also capable of helping with landscape questions and issues.”
As if Libby doesn’t seem busy enough, she also has found time to be involved in the arts and charitable community for more than 20 years. She currently serves on the board of The Arizona Costume Institute at the Phoenix Art Museum and on the Governing Council of The Phoenix Heart Ball. But, make no mistake, Libby always has time for her clients!
